2011 Gay Brewer, Jr. Grant Program Recipients Announced
The Kentucky Golf Foundation is pleased to announce grant recipients for the 2011 Gay Brewer, Jr. Grant Program. The program was founded in 2007 by friends of the late Gay Brewer, Jr., who wanted to create a program in which his memory and legacy could be honored, while at the same time, providing financial support to junior golfers in Kentucky with the desire and ability to compete at the regional and national level. 111th U.S. Open Qualifier Returns to Idle Hour
Donald Ross Course Stern Test for Hopefuls
A field of 78 amateurs and professionals will test their skills and talents on the famed Donald Ross Course at Idle Hour Country Club in Lexington as they try to capture one of the five local qualifying spots for the 111th U.S. Open Championship. Qualifying rounds begin at 9:00 a.m. EDT on Monday, May 16th. Those five will then advance to sectional qualifiers across the country.

One hundred years is not a long time in the history of our country but it certainly marks a milestone when an organization has conducted business for that length of time. The Kentucky Golf Association has just reached that pinnacle and is celebrating it's centennial with several special events throughout the year.
