KGA-PGA, Inc. Names New Director, Junior & Senior Golf

Kentucky's family of golf organizations are happy to introduce Ryan Tahara as Director, Junior & Senior Golf.  A native of Elkhart, Indiana and graduate of Indiana University, Ryan comes to the KGA-PGA, Inc. from the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), where he has been serving as a Tournament Director.


Ryan is Rules of Golf certified by the USGA/PGA through his performance on the Rules of Golf Exam, and is well trained in tournament operations through his experience with the AJGA, which sets the standard for competitive junior golf in the United States.  

 

He will officially begin service on November 15.

Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame Ceremony Conducted

Three Individuals Inducted

Wildwood Country Club in Louisville served as the host for the 2011 Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame Ceremony on November 11.

 

The Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame was established in 1984 as a joint effort by the Kentucky Golf Association and the Kentucky Section PGA to honor individuals in Kentucky with significant achievements and accomplishments in various areas of golf. The Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame’s membership includes individuals with outstanding records as players, golf professionals, golf course superintendents, educators, and golf administrators. It is located at Golf House Kentucky and is administered by the Kentucky Golf Foundation.

Campbell Wins 2010 KSGA Player of the Year

Edges Cantrell as Season Closes

Mike Campbell had to wait a few extra days after the final event of the 2010 season to find out if he was the KSGA Player of the Year. His closest competitor, Joe Cantrell, had an outside chance to make the field at the US Senior Amateur Championship. If Cantrell had been selected into the field as an alternate, he would have accumulated enough points to pass Campbell for the honor. View More
 

KGA Members Enjoy Final Event at Big Spring

Stableford Format Highlights Competition

Big Spring Country Club hosted fifty KGA Members at the final 2010 KGA Member Play Day Tournament today. Participants enjoyed a first class golf venue, continental breakfast and alot of fun. Winners were recognized divisions for men, senior men, super senior men and women.

Cochran Wins Again

Kentucky's family of golf organizations congratulate Paducah's Russ Cochran for his victory at the Champions Tour's SAS Championship on September 26 at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, North Carolina. It was his second win in a row on the Champions Tour as he captured the Songdo Championship on September 12.

Bates and Blake Advance to U.S. Senior Amateur Championship

Destination - Lake Nona Golf & Country Club

The Cardinal Club in Simpsonville is fast becoming a popular host site for championship golf events and it is also becoming known as a place that doesn't surrender many low scores. Today's U.S. Senior Amateur Championship Qualifying rounds produced two sub-par rounds out of 30 players and they were just one under par 71.
