Paducah native and Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame member Russ Cochran captured the Champions Tour's Songdo Championship on September 12 in Incheon, South Korea, for his first victory on the Champions Tour.
Lakeside PGA Professional Al Chrouser was just a few minutes away from departing Champion Trace Golf Club after his final round when he decided to take one last look at the scoreboard. Good thing he did, because he was tied for the championship.
Ted Schulz Captures Champions Tour's First Tee Open
Kentucky's family of golf organizations congratulate Louisville's Ted Schulz, who captured the Champions Tour's First Tee Open on September 5 at Pebble Beach Golf Links. This marked Schulz's first victory on the Champions Tour.
Schulz, the 1983 Kentucky State Amateur Champion and Kentucky Open Champion in 1984 and 1988, had a successful PGA Tour career, highlighted by wins at the 1989 Southern Open and the 1991 Nissan Los Angeles Open.
2010 KSGA Senior Amateur Championship Conducted at Audubon Country Club
Consistency was the name of the game for Ft. Mitchell's Roger Schoeni. His rounds of 75 and 74 earned him first place honors at the 2010 KSGA Senior Amateur Championship. Many players battled back in the second round after Audubon Country Club gave them all they wanted on Monday. View More
The highlight reel for 2010 will include several of Kentucky's top amateur golfers winning titles for many of the state's championships. The 2010 KGA Mid-Amateur Championship is, of course, for amateurs only but it will feature many of those same champions in the field.
In typical fashion, Campbellsville Country Club opened up their gracious arms once again as they played host to the 2010 Kentucky Senior Golf Association's Amazon.com Special. The golf course conditions were great for the 86 KSGA members who competed in the event, as was evident when the scorecards were tallied. Six players recorded par or better scores, all from the first flight.
Danville Country Club played host to 106 members of the Kentucky Senior Golf Association for the 2010 Summer Special on July 19th. The golf course set up well for the players but only one played broke par and posted a red score - Dennis Long fired a one under par 71. Willis Black shot a 73 to take top honors in the Super Senior Division.
